Prof. Marc Hemmelder (Dept of Internal Medicine) and his team* received a ZonMw grant to promote early palliative care for dialysis patients who are non-waitlisted for transplantation. The project involves patients and caregivers to perform registry-, cohort-, and interview-based studies. In addition to palliative care, the project also aims to contribute to patient-centered care and deprescribing of inappropriate medication.
